hey guys, been looking in on this post for a while & i have decided to share my work so far on a Zombie CCG. it is based of the romero films (+remake), resident evil (games, not movies), & from a lot of the ideas here on this forum... this is by no means 'complete' but it is a good core for a Zombie CCG set. zombies (from a game point of view they are classified as Undead) start with a Mob Pool, much like a skynet players production points, to spend on zombies. every zombie card has a mob value which determines their cost to play, there are both individual & mob types of zombies each with their own costs... the rules are not complete, but the CARDS are well on their way, i tend to make cards as i go along & edit them later to streamline the system. i hope you like these, i spend a good amount of time on this project. Cool! I really like the templates!
I'm sorry to say that I'm not a big fan of Resident Evil or the Remakes of the Romero Films, but I still love what you've done.

thanks! you know, i did not like the remake as a movie either, but as a source of screenshots for zombie cards, there is no better film. a majority of the condition cards are taken from DOTD remake. its hard to find decent images so i work with what i got...
& i forgit to mention, based off resident evil 1 & 2, not the later games...

Okay, I do like the first and second Resident Evil, I'll admit.
Also, I can probably take some screenshots from the older zombie films if you want... I have the first four Romero films, plus many European Zombie films.

yes! i am always lookin for more shots, i have every romero film (night, night remake, dawn, dawn remake, day, day remake, diary, land & survival, phew!), but i do not have any euro zombie films (like Zombi 1-3?, i have all the british ones, shaun, last of the living, zombie diaries). of course, i would also say that i have just one pair of eyes, more people looking means more source material to work from... my newest zombie cards are all the baddies from left 4 dead like the smoker... By zorenathres at 2010-08-08 By zorenathres at 2010-08-08 By zorenathres at 2010-08-08 i think now i am looking for new types of undead, apart from the standard zombies. especially variants of the typical zombie (Bulletproof/ Cop Zombie: +2 Armor, Flaming Zombie: +2 to Speed & -2 to Defense +1 environmental damage every turn, Raging Zombie: +2 to damage & -1 to hit, Toxic Zombie, Radioactive Zombie etc...), as well as monsters (Zombie Crocodile, Zombie Crows, Huge Zombie Spiders etc...). P.S. thank you for pointing the supporting characters error, its all fixed.

I'll try to get some screenshots ASAP.
About that Zombie Spiders idea you had, one of my favorite Zombie Films, Lucio Fulci's The Beyond, has (somewhat) Zombie Spiders. They are not giant, but they can still eat your face.
And, so you know, the original Dawn of the Dead is Zombi 1 (I know, it's confusing).
EDIT: I just noticed this, but are the Zombies sussposed to be Supporting Characters?

those spiders sound cool, bring em on...
i actually had no idea, so Zombi 2 is that directors first but is in fact a sequal to romero's?

Yeah, an unoffical Italian sequel. Some sources will tell you that Z2 script was not connected to Dawn was released, and that it was changed to be a sequel when it came out in Italy as ZOMBI (Horror Maestro Dario Argento produced it internationaly.)

I'm glad you like it.
Well, you should probably make them a mob, since it took about 10 of them to eat the guy's face off. (A bit of trivia: this film has three death scenes involving wounds to the eyeball, this scene included).
Oh, and I forgot to mention that Zombi 2 was released as "Zombie" in the US, which confuses many people.

ok folks, for the moment i think i have enough test cards, what i am working on now is the rules to go along with the Undead. such as, starting Mob Pool & Combat Pool by scenario, deployment & sacrifice rules (deploy only to starting location & infected locations, sacking undead to gain Mob Points equal to their Mob Value), & possible alt. win conditons? (unlikely, at this point it just seems like the mindless dead are just that, so no alternate victory).
any ideas? suggestions? where is everybody?

You could do a swarm/overwhelming/domination type victory condition. Set a total Mob Number/amount of zombies that must be reached to win.

The way I see it, Zombies should just kill all humans, plain and simple. However, depending on the scenario, that could change.
Just one question, do Humans that are killed by zombies turn into zombies? I would prefer that mechanic (my idea was to have Zombies function somewhat like Aliens, they use Zombie Tokens to keep track of extra Zombies, and place them on the card.)
Never mind, looked at the cards again, I see what you are doing.

Another question: Is it possible if I could help make a "cleaned up" version of the cards. Not to insult you, I just want to help make the game. I'm already getting some movies out to take some snapshots from them. EDIT: Some snapshots of "The Living Dead at the Manchester Mourge" (A great film, better than the average zombie film)
