Decklists for 'boardgame' type play

Hi all,

I've been lurking for a while just exploring the game. Never played but interested in printing some cards via MPC and keeping this as a boardgame to play. I love the gameplay of 90s TCGs as that's what I grew up with, but I don't love the collecting or OOP aspect of the games. I'm really into visual design and printing my own cards at the moment and this is a good project for me.

Anyway, I'm not asking anyone to do the work for me in explorign the cards and learnign the game, but what I was wondering was if anyone could point me towards a good resource for building some balanced decks that would play well together. I was thinking of making between 3-6 decks so there's variety and to accommodate the full 3 player experience with all the factions. A bit of crunch and complexity is fine as I am a Magic and SWCCG player so don't mind complicated card interactions, but also something easy enough to pick up.

I saw some decklists on BGG but wanted to ask the community in case anyone is sitting on an awesome resource for this.

Honestly, that's a good resource we ought to have - but I don't think we have anything like that on-hand. There might be some threads around here with suggestions but a starter guide to getting into the game would be good to have. I've always thought the game would do well in a LCG-style format, with a limited card pool. Such an intro guide could also work in that direction by not just having recommended decks, but recommended small card pools to start with and others to expand into optionally.

Great suggestions. Are there many decklists (advanced or otherwise) somewhere in the forums or is it a matter of hunting through threads? I'm happy to go hunting but worth checking first.

I found a nice BGG thread outlining starting strategies from 10+ years ago but it doesn't incorporate any of your awesome fan sets. Do you have decks drawing from the entire cardpool?

I don't really have any deck lists online, I kind of build and tear apart decks on a whim. Overall, I think there is more discussion about decks than actual deck lists, but there are some lists around in various threads.

I think ( maybe) I have some of the decks that were listed on the old aliens predator.com website.

Don't know where and I'd have to go digging.

But, I. Between writing a fan book for the alien RPG, I am working on rules for using the cards in a boardgame.

Basically the idea came about when I saw my box of 1200+cards, that were just taking up space, so kept the ones I wanted, ditched the rest (home printed custom cards), ended up with 750, and went from there.

I'm a solo player with not a lot of spare time, so wanted something I could come and go back and forth with it.

Witha slow spacehulk type of crawler in mind, I'm trying to work out the combination of maps, cards and tokens/miniatures
