Thanks guys, I wanted to be sure. The card isn't nearly as powerful or broken as I thought it could have been. But had it been the way I thought it worked then it should have been a Unique card.
If it lasts for 1 phase or 'Round' like call it then it cannot be used for any other rolls outside of combat then?
I did read somewhere that it was possible to use Adapt and Overcome and the Face Hugger Attack event card. Forgot which AvP CCG site it was, but anyways-
My thoughts on the usefulness of this card is to reserve a 6 rolled (natural) and use it with Overconfidence + Have Me Some Fun, since Have Me Some Fun bypasses all Armor and Resistance bonuses, and Overconfidence can guarantee a hit against a Predator regardless of how high their defense is.
That way it's a guaranteed hit+damage against an Unhidden Predator.
The deck would have to be built around some serious Combat Pool Management though.
Or it can be a deck built around Adapt and Overcome, Overconfidence, and Disarmament.
Disarmaments would cause a Predator to lose their Camouflage Suit and/or Plasma Caster which means they would be as good as dead sooner or later.
Another question is the damage effect from Have Me Some Fun applied only during the damage step? I.E. after all regular attacks have resolved? Or is it applied immediately?
As for re-rolling dices the card I only can think of at the moment is On A Roll and Right To The Wall. Both of those cards 2 CP to use, so more CP management is required.

On that topic, also consider that events only have effect for 1 phase. (like Good Shot. Play Good Shot during movement with an Overwatch and attack at +2, but if you declare an attack during the normal combat round, the bonus is long since gone, as the phase has changed. (twice).) That may be taken as Adapt and Overcome's effect only lasting as long as an event card is allowed to without specifying a duration. I'd say it lasts for 1 phase. (As in I attack with 4 marines. My 1st marine rolls a 6, I Adapt and Overcome so the next marine's roll is considered a 6, then roll for the last 2 marines. Its not a terrible card.) I'm kind of tempted to make a deck using this and those other events that allow rerolls. Wait, I just re-read the official rulings/FAQs and noticed something regarding Adapt and Overcome: Events FAQ Counter: Question: Can I use 'Counter' event card to stop/counter a Adapt and Overcome? Answer: Yes. 4/26/98 Question: What does the term 'Ongoing Effect' refer to? Answer: Since most events last only 1 round, an event with an 'ongoing' effect is an event that has an effect that lasts more than 1 round. (and costs Combat Pool for Counter) 7/26/99 Question: Can you play 'Counter' against another player's 'Counter'? Answer: No. Counter only cancels Events that (a) use Combat Pool AND (b) have an ongoing effect. [An "ongoing effect" means they last longer than 1 Round.] 11/2/99 5:34:10 PM So judging by that Adapt and Overcome would last more than 1 Round or Phase.

Yeah, it can, but the way I read it, it still has to be used on the very next roll you make, whether that's in the next phase or three rounds from now.

Good catch shaolin.
I think Have Me Some Fun just replaces the normal damage of an attack, when the damage occurs, but I'm not totally sure.

That's how I have always played it. It's a replacement effect that does not change the timing.

The rewordings all seem to be in line with my understanding of how those cards work. My understanding is that Dissection doesn't stack, and rightly so. I think of chemical base as negating one instance of acid damage, like the damage effect of acid splash, or 1 character's damage from an acid spray. Empty seems like something that should, and would likely have been Permanent if it was printed in Rez, but i'd say, technically, it doesn't stay in play, just changes the condition of the weapon. Same with field promotion. Ravaged Chamber is a slightly harder call, since it says "This effect is permanent" but i still think its discarded after use. After I checked with Bobby (Pawn III), I guess we're all set about Empty. This is good news that it was errata'd as a "Permanent" card, now that means it can be cancelled and removed later with an End of The Line. For Predator decks that use Scatterguns wouldn't have to worry about not being able to "reload" their Scattergun as long as they have any End Of The Line's in their decks. I'm gonna have to check on Field Promotion, Stalking the Queen, and Ravaged Chamber next and see what Pawn III says about them. Now unless if Pierce Ryan (galmorzu)or Jon Beckert (Sgt. Draino) or any other former rep ever comes by here and had different thoughts about it and remembered those being played differently than what Bobby remembers then we'll have to assume that it's as accurate as it should be according to Bobby.
