Maybe it will happen again, but I seriously doubt it.

Maybe it'd take getting a company interested in the property. lol Anyone for an online petition?

How much really would it cost? 'Cause it might be cool to try and...you know, do a fan company. If any of you are familar with Stargate, some fanfic writers set up a company specifically to buy the license for and produce Stargate novels.

With the upcomming movie, a lot I imagine #undecided#
I alsounfortunately can't see it making that much money - i've seen far too many CCG's die upon birth. Much like the Terminator CCG first came out, it's just too late. AvP2 may bring renewed interest, but not enough I fear #sad#

Or how about...doing the legwork and presenting it to...whoever it is who has the Battleground system?

Or how about...doing the legwork and presenting it to...whoever it is who has the Battleground system? www.reality.com/They own it and AP CCG, you should read my earlier post: After what Galmorzu (ex-ZI Games member) said on the Future Plans page, I looked into this and discovered that the cards company Reality Simulations, Inc own the rights to the AliensPredator CCG game, and the Battleground system. This is what they had to say on terms of a re-release: "As far as re-release goes, it's unlikely. The TCG market is much changed since that time, the licence hasexpired, Precedence is dead and everyone has disbursed. I unfortunately don't see it happening, at least as a real product. It's remotely possible it could be a virtual product if one of us got super-inspired, but even that's remote." So basically, the only way it looks likely is if someone buys the rights off them, which means you would have to be, as Galmorzu said, filthy rich. I have updated the Future Plans and the FAQ pages accordingly.

I'd forgotten the name. Where on their site does it say they own the Battleground system?

I think the only realistic approach to this would be to all organise our 'Fan Sets' etc into proffessional looking sets - this would involve proper play testing, graphics, updating of older cards etc etc.
Axotl seems to be doing very well on his own etc with this and i'm sure he'd welcome more input and assistance
This could then be hosted on here as a professional looking game.
Of course, we wouldn't make any money for it, but then, that's not what I think any of us want

I think what'd make it that bit more popular would be to do a fan-made online client. Where we really try and simulate the feeling that it is real. Virtual credits, tournaments, stuff like that.

wait, reality actually has the rights to Aliens Predator? i thought they just picked up the battleground system and terminator.... i figured harper-prism, if anyone, still had the Aliens Predator CCG rights.
On the topic of a new program to play it, its a cool idea, and i'd help in any way possible. There is always a possibility, slim as it might be, of causing enough of a resurgence online to kick-start a real product, especially if AVP:R does good in theaters and if theres another CCG boom.

Ian made it out as if Reality only had the BG rights and the AvP ones had expired.

These are all the emails that were sent back and forth (newest at top):
True... although we would need to go into full production on cards to make it worthwhile. Those licenses are extremely expensive.
