Yeah, my favorite use is in the Predator deck i posted under the Contact thread, it makes for a spiffy deck combined with other hidden movement tricks like Trick of the Light. Basically, you only attack if you'll be safe from harm doing so. If an enemy moves in range and hits you, IJTC, and you get off free. The mentioned deck relies on Long-Ranged Shot and Overwatch to score non-risky attacks.
Actually, IJTC is ALWAYS good against Aliens. They'll be guessing which locations got the real Predator, and if they guess right, you just do IJTC and hope for better luck next turn.
It can also be used if your trying to retreat, for instance, to repair an item, search for something at a specific location, or, especially, if you need to heal.
It protects you on a turn that you rotated for a Medikit or a Meditation, since you wont be attacking anyways, you lose nothing. (Note, these would need to be done before moving)
It really is a great card.

I guess they had to do this since Preds cannot afford to get hit in the first place, but that was the flaw my friend considered in the game, since that's pretty much the excuse when you are allowed to use only 1 character when using Predator species in the official scenarios. An excuse to go for cheap kills with the Plasma Caster effortlessly with high defense and +To Hit bonuses. I'd always thought it was kind of cheap, but eventually came to the same conclusion. The Predator should be hard to hit/wound/kill, otherwise it'd not really be worth playing. I call it "The Roslin," but here's a super-cheap combo against the Marines: Decompression Valves + Eat Vacuum Just sit in the Docking Bay, and wait for him to return with all his civvies, then blow them all out the airlock during a non-move round. With some Combat Pool to spare you can also use Retreat. Or if you must engage the opponent a Disengaging Attack can also set them up for the fall. In general I almost always avoid Rescuring Civilians with Marines, instead I opt for a combat deck. Typically my Squad consists of General Perez, Cpl Hicks, Pvt Masters, and Bishop. The Motion Tracker is a staple when dealing with Predator players that likes to hit and run and play hide and seek repeatedly. It won't save me from Long Range Shots, but if the Predator is within range then I have a chance once he's given away his position and even more so if he chose to fight me at the same location. Then I'll have my Shotguns, Hit Bonuses and Overconfidence, and free attacks from Rapid Fire ready, and Have Me Some Fun or Settle The Score.

ah.... Madame Airlock. lol. And that is a very strong combo. Another reason to run Malfunction. The combo reminds me of the Hull Breach/hive movement combo, for whatever reason. Wait, can The Will To Live be used with Eat Vacuum, if for some reason the Marine/Predator player screwed up and their opponent damages/destroy their only means of Environmental Damage Protection via a MK 50 Compression Suit or Decompression Valves? So they can still (narrowly) win by cheating death? But I don't think it would work well with Hull Breach, and is still very risky.

Wow. This brings back some memories. I too was a part of the Zehrapushu Inc. (ZI Games) family. I used to go by Broken Tusk (I guess I still am). I got involved after Precedence abandoned AVP to work on their Babylon 5 game (boy, did they back the wrong horse).
After Sean and Hans of ZI picked up AVP I came on board to do some copy editing and game mechanics design. Basically trying to recreate scenes from the movies using the in-game mechanics.
Many of you have been asking why the game hasn't been resurrected or why hasn't there been a new AVP CCG. The answer is money. There isn't any money in it. The biggest problem is that Richard Garfield (and by extension Wizards of the Coast and Upper Deck), creator of MTG owns the patents to really ridiculous concepts like "turning a card sideways to indicate an action" or "assembling a set of card of predetermined quantity using a larger set of available cards" etc. (i.e. the essential pillars to CCGs). Basically, anyone that wants to compete with Magic: The Gathering has to pay Magic: The Gathering a royalty for the privilege. That's a horrible business model to start with and then you add in the fact that you have to pay a wad of cash to Fox to get the rights to the properties. Then you have to add in the fact that stars like Sigourney Weaver retain the rights to their images and you'll need to pay them extra for that. (That's why she only appeared on one card in the first set). Only the original Star Wars CCG with its massive fanbase could hope to compete with MTG and even they faltered ultimately.
Anyway, I'm around if anyone has questions. I can't guarantee I'll remember. It seems like a lifetime ago and I wasn't privy to everything.
Also, if people are looking to add to their collections I have many cards available for sale as well as uncut sheets of cards. The uncut sheets are from the original set, the expansion and one is a sheet of the Predator promo card that was packaged exclusively with the original AVP PC game. I probably have some booster pack boxes and starters preserved as well as the battleground playmat poster. Let me know if you're interested and I'll put on my archaeology hat and dig them up.
And maybe I'll get around to telling my GenCon stories. My friends still laugh about that misadventure.

Would you be able to scan the play mat? I have been looking for a good quality shot of that for a long time.

Hey guys. The playmat measures 16x20. Not really scanner friendly. I'll see what I can do to locate a scanner and then scan it in sections and stitch it. Did you need the poster side as well or just the battleground? I tracked down my old binders. Turns out I've got a full set of all 9 promo cards. So I still have to get into my storage to track down the remaining items (my decks, starters, instruction books, counters, empty booster boxes). In my possession currently is the demonstrator playmat, four uncut sheets of cards (1 original series, 2 resurrection expansion and 1 promo card), the full set of 9 promo cards, an alphabetized binder of original series cards (probably 400 cards) and one binder of Resurrection (200 cards). If you need specific cards then go ahead and ask. I'll put together a quote for you. Otherwise I'll wait until I've got all of the cards together to sell them in bulk. The promo cards I'll let go for $100 for the set. I've never seen uncut sheets of cards like these go for less than $100 so I'll say $100 OBO. Keep in mind that shipping could be pricey. As far as the playmat goes...I have no idea. Make an offer? Attachments:

This is Awesome news!!
It's an honor to have another Former Staff member that developed the card game for AvP.
The official playmat should be the last missing piece of the puzzle to a perfect AvP LackeyCCG plugin.
Let us know once you have it up.
Also, I forgot if LackeyCCG supported a modified background (custom background image) and what the maximum resolution is allowed, but I guess I can check over at their forums regarding this before coming back with more information.

(That's why she only appeared on one card in the first set). Only the original Star Wars CCG with its massive fanbase could hope to compete with MTG and even they faltered ultimately. I'm familiar with how business and corporations work and the way they are. $$$$$$$$ talks and bullshit walks. Aliens and Predator may be popular sci-fi franchises but when it comes to profitability I think they struggle greatly compared to the vastly larger fanbases out there, such as Star Wars, Star Trek, and those are only similar in terms of futuristic outer space sci-fi themes. When it came to CCGs, MTG was the very first and therefore it will be hard to beat since it is the original. For CCGs that had a anime background such as yugioh can easily sucker and draw in the masses and because of the anime background it easily draws in the younger population. And not only that because they have shiny "holofoil" type of cards. Too bad AvP never had any "holofoils", but I already knew why since it's always the same: money and profits for various parties involved means it's very difficult for the publisher to really invest heavily into creating and releasing the card game. Also just take a look at what the hell fox did with Aliens and Predator in the last decade or so. The sequels other than "Aliens" were mostly inferior and never really made that much money. At best they were B-movies, and worst just an excuse to sell more merchandise like toys, comics, video games (not all of them were all that good, some were indeed really awful). Even the last AvP game released was not given proper support and thus another huge amount of DisRespect to the fanbase. Now only if there will be a new Aliens vs Predator card game, there's only one real possibility due to the way the CCG markets status currenty are: A Digitized Card Game format with online play supported format. Digital CCG means no worry about clutter, and should be more cost efficient to create. If I recalled I think Capcom or SNK did something like that with a game called " SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash", so I say if a whole new AvP Card Game is actually going to be made and released then start with that model instead of mass printing actual physical cards. And digital only means it could be mass distributed via digital distribution saving additional production costs. And even if someone got the money and rights/permissions to create and release one then I would advise them with this: It would Absolutely be best to design it using the Living Card Game Format to reduce the " trading" and " collecting" elements, as that is what kills the possibility of a CCG lasting long in it's early stages and even moreso for something like Aliens and Predator which is not any where close to the top 10 most profitable franchise out there.

Hello to everyone out there. I have managed to stumble across this site and I absolutely love it. I am a huge AvP fan as well as Terminator. I auctally still have several sets of each to include all of the promos but not the play test cards. Anyway I wanted to say hi and if anyone has any cards they want to get rid of, boxes, singles, promos, THE 4 BETA CARDS, let me know at bravesirrobin20@yahoo.com. I'm on here often so hope to see something new on here, I'll post some cards I made later.

Hi. Where can I find all the ruling regarding Outcast Predator? Since they don’t use Honor I found it difficult to build a deck with them.

The official rules or my rules for the Outcast faction?
Officially, its just that you can't get an honor win. otherwise follow all predator rules.
