question. how would 2 cocooned victims play into a predator or marine deck?
i dont mean to sound pompous, or rude here... im just curious, have you found a combination or somthing of the sort that would make having them in youre (Non Alien) deck work?

Cocooned Victims are generally staples for Aliens decks. You gain another Alien quicker without having to wait till the next combat round to attack and capture them since they are considered captured the moment when you find them in the search round. You can't use a breeding chamber in a marines or predator deck which is required in order to find a Cocooned victim, being that the breeding chamber is a starting location. Well actually the ruling goes that any identical location to starting locations when played later in the game are automatically considered distinct. So if the Marine or Predator player plays a Breeding Chamber to find Cocooned Victims themselves then that would be a different Breeding Chamber than the one the Aliens player started out with. I see very little point for Marines since you would have to drag them, there are better and easier to rescue civvies. As for Predator, you're kidding right? Even for an Honor focused deck, which hardly ever works outside of a casual fun type of deck.

Hah, good question. The Cocooned Victims are, in fact, for my Aliens deck. I only ever had one and the deck still has two proxies I printed out years and years ago, as it's a necessary card for any Aliens deck. Figured if I'm going to do some trading and selling, might as well try and some legitimate cocooned victims to clean up the deck, and on a similar note, I'm sure I could find room for a third Alien Birth. -RogueThirteen

@shaolin Yautja-
With Preds i was kinda thinking of something along the lines of playing them in concert with "The Hunt" played on the queen. You dive into the Hive Chamber after "Stalking the Queen" maybe you need a little more Honor before you take her out so you "Dead End" her, Find yourself a "Cocooned victim" then rock a little "Kill and Kill Again" and BOOYAH!
Im not saying i would go for it in a competitive game, but i can see there being a use at least.
As for the Marines, maybe they are trying to rescue a captured main character or something i dunno, and they happen to find a "Cocooned Victim" from their hand. Hell if im gonna take my marines in there for any reason might as well sweeten the deal right? Then once you do, don't worry about dragging them anywhere. Just "EEV" the suckers right on the spot, BOOM!

Heres a quick winning deck for Preds. One that pissed my friends off to no end! If you wanna try something new, to throw them a curve ball check this out.
Below are the essentials, everyhting else in the deck would be fluff ie defensive events n what not.
Starting- Eager Youth: 3 Honor x1 Melee Claws: 2 Honor
Location- Hived Airlock
Supporting character- Ambushed Predator
Events- x3 Got it
Play Style: Burn through youre deck as fast as you can, get yourself a "Got it" to bring "Ambushed Predator" into youre hand. Evacuate him for five Honor, win the game! LOL! i love this one =)
*Also starting with "Decompression Valves" (Honor-0), and a "Corridor" (Damaged Location) are great combos for playing "Hull Breaches" to give yourself more time if needed.

Im not saying i would go for it in a competitive game, but i can see there being a use at least. You have a point there, but I think a better alternative is to run Trick Shot and any Pred with Marksman. Since Dead End costs 2 CP then I think you might as well have a card that more or less will guarantee a hit on the Queen at the cost of spending some CP.. Trick Shot will bypass all of the Queen's defensive bonuses thus guaranteeing a hit because her Base Defense is 0, although it gives a -2 to hit penalty but if Sharp Eye is used then that penalty is redundant. Best case is to run that card if you want to take out their Queen fast and then also run some Stand Offs because you can stall Aliens from attacking for 1 turn, although it is better to have Not That Ways and/or The Area Is Secure which can prevent them from reaching you for one turn, and then you can pick her off from any adjacent location. Once the Queen is killed the Aliens will have a hard time catching up in regaining control of the match. Their hand size drops to 3 or 4 depending on the scenario and unless they already bred quickly and filled their hand up with many cards they won't have much of a chance at a comeback. They could still try and pump up one Alien Warrior with many tokens but with the cards that prevent them from reaching the Predator the Predator more or less will have control of the match here because he could still pick them off from an adjacent location safely. Yes, I'm aware of that evac anywhere card. But the Alien Queen is generally at the Breeding Chamber and that is where most of your opponent's characters will be thus preventing you from legally evacuating. The normal evacuation rules are still applied to the EEV card, you can't use it if there is still an unhidden enemy present at the current location you are trying to evac from. And also because you cannot find Cocooned Victims anywhere else but the Breeding Chamber. You need to have the EEV card as soon as possible when you are able to search for the civvies from your hand so it would be advisable to run Tavern as Marines' starting hand size is generally not so good compared to Predator or Alien. And on top of that you would also want to net deck The Area Is Secure, Not That Way to prevent the opponent from reaching you otherwise you won't be able to evac without killing their characters first. I think Human Cargo or Evacuation is a better deal to quickly search out and evacuate Civvies than risking a suicide run into a Breeding Chamber and trying to bring out Cocooned Victims and as I've said before the Queen will almost always still be alive there and heavily guarded somehow preventing any possibility of evacuation.

I updated my lists, but didn't want to steal your place at the top of the board Bump.
