Right. Because I don't have enough random projects I've started recently, here is another.
I came up with a CCG rules idea I liked when tinkering with ideas for a Star Wars CCG. I liked the idea so much I felt it would fit better and be able to be more expansive by switching the idea to my own creation.
See, I'd rather not waste the idea on something I could never profit from.
the idea is reminiscent of RPGs a bit, which is why it fits so well with my untitled sci-fantasy setting. (The setting combines elements of sci-fi and fantasy together, involving ancient dead races that where the masters of technology, multiple modern cultures ranging from primitive to a rough version of 1800sish tech, and a universe with with physical parameters fundamentally different from out own, that allow a sort of "magic", that shares a bit of function with the concept of psychic powers.)
In the course of brainstorming, I came up with a 2nd, intriguing mechanic that could add a HUGE amount of flavor to the game.
I've worked out a quick version of the rules, and will sit down to hash out some demo decks as a proof of concept. All I target with this right now is a solid demo of the gameplay elements I've created, I will NOT be doing a set any time soon because of the issue of images. (Most of my creatures in the game are my own designs, and do not correspond to mythical or stereotypical fantasy creatures, or are to far altered from the standard idea to use generic images, and I'm not much of a drawer, beyond rough design sketches.)
I'm going to try and make the demo decks with multiple characters to try out also.
So that's all I'm going to share until the demo is ready. I know I've got a lot of things I've talked abut doing, including other entire CCGs, but I kind of just do whatever catches my interest at any particular moment. And I rather like he idea of not being constrained by the parameters of a pre-existing universe.
Oh yeah, no humans in this either.
