Ugh.

I can't form a coherent opinion. I swerve between "give it a shot" and "it sucks" constantly.

I try not to be all conservative with the creatures, I try let them be taken in new directions, especially the Preds, they need a bit more mythology.

But I can't quite stifle the discomfort with what has been changed. At least the changes aren't as bad as the PredQueen in AVPR.

I just... think... hey, it COULD be good, but then I think, this is a Predator movie. Aliens/Predator stuff that is good, looks good in concept to. Things that COULD be good with A/P, are almost always bad.

I feel like if they would just tone down the 8-year-old power fantasy nature of the Super Predator's and GIVE THEM GREEN FUCKING BLOOD then it would more than likely be a pretty decent film

I don't mind mandibles on an alien if they look decent. but the dreads are always crap on an alien.

Well aslong as they actually stick to who the predators are I DON'T MIND...but after AvPR it kind of destroyed them. They have always been an honerable race and won't kill unarmed people.....so why in every game, and ALL the new movies do they go round hunting ANYTHING that moves? once again hollywood making it so the kids go OMG YAAAAAY RANDOM MINDLESS CIVI VIOLNCE YAAAAY!! NO!! *hits back with rolled up newspaper* I do not expect hollywood to take this into account, nor do I expect the director will either (just look at what that idiot did with Terminator salvation, EVEN AFTER cameron gave him pointers which he completely ignored ¬_¬).

But all this concidered, its not the predator movie i'd be worried about...its ALIEN 5 and there prequal ideas.....howcan you have a prequal to something that has no past....the company had never seen these things before that damn movie and now hollywood spinning on that "OH NOOOOO the've known about them for YEEEEARS" and in all this time they have never caught one and experimented onit? Am I to beleive that this film is gonna be...catch the pidegon with lance henrikson as mutley? oh thats gonna be funny to...explaining how weyland can be alive at presant day AND 200 years into the future (once again good going hollywooooood!)

Actually, Alien pretty implicitly said that the company did know about the aliens. Or at least that they knew something was there on that planet, and the impression I always got was that they already knew.

ok so what about Bishop in alien 3? he's human...his ear hangs off and pisses out blood, and in the special edition he's even going mental screaming "IM NOT AN ANDROID" so none of this makes sense to me...if that is bishop then how is he alive back in presant day and ARGH head hurts already...

Well, i think it is generally accepted that he is a synthetic, just one built to appear human. I believe the credits list him as Bishop II.

I also think if someone's ear was practically ripped off they'd be on the ground screaming wordlessly.

But then again I sliced my leg to the bone and didn't feel a thing. Just kind looked at it and went "oh shit..." in my head. So I guess I don't really know at all what would happen.

Anyways, I think AvP effectively retcons him to be an android at least.

Here is the plot point spoiler I'm talking about if you are interested, it becomes apparent about 3/4ths the way through the Marine campaign:

The game says that Weyland uploaded his memories using prototype tech in 2004 before the pyramid trip, and those memories are installed in the new Synthetic Weyalnds each time one dies. It is implied that the fact that he isn't human is kept secret.

Now, I don't take the game as canon, but I find that plot point to be interesting, and I like the idea.

ok that was explained very nicely thank you I refuse to take it as canon as once upon a time, both stories were seperate but its a nice plot tie in a will admit (and i must not have found that damn diary, do you remeber where abouts it was located?) I REALLY looked round the marine campain but somehow missed 12 diarys...that must have been one of them

And yes most people would be rything on the floor, the way i see it, weyland has what could be the last queen in existance standing infront of him (this is what he thinks at the time), pain is a formality (As i said on special edition he rythes in pain ALOT more screaming im not an android goddmanit! grabs his ear doubles over in pain, i just think he was keeping his mind on ripley (could be completely wrong but he does strike me as that sorta person, and lance henrikson REALLY Gets into his characters so neither would it surprise me). Also shouts at someone holding a cam corder which i had a giggle at lol

so why go to the trouble of STILL pretending your human? why shout and sceam and such, ash didn't scream when he was decapitated, and bishop wasn't in that much pain on the floor when he was in half, nor when he was sitting on a table in peicies........to me it looked asif he was real, and lance just added a very tough edge to the character, the guy is dead set on getting a queen...I dunno one of those un-answered questions becuase the documentary didn't even cover weather or not he was real or an android.....I dunno this is just one of those things that has plagued me and its never ever explained (and as i said i don't use AvP as a storyline help as its not canon, the predators didn't even exsist in the alien universe till one person thought "this would make a great vs series" I mean they've done aliens vs batman, superman, robocop the lot, so if AVP is counted then those should to ...which is why its silly...)
