I'll just list my thoughts and comments on the movie here as I think of them.
I didn't hate it.
I can't decide if T3 or T4 is the funner movie as a stand-alone film.
T4 has no moments, in my opinion, that insult the canon quite like T3 did. There is a scene with Marcus that some might see as insulting to the canon but I didn't find it that bad.
Its got a good share of groan worthy and cliche lines.
Lame obligatory lines from past Terminator films.
One nod I liked was that you here the guns and roses song from T2 on a radio in the film in a scene.
Bale acts like Batman the entire time, sometimes even worse. Some of his lines are impossible to understand.
Harvester still seems like a stupid idea.
HKs, T-600s, and Hydrobots where definitely pretty cool in the film.
Something seemed off about the T-800's face, reminded me of the T-888s from TSCC, in a bad way. At least in some shots, that is.
Sam Worthington is passable as Marcus.
Anton Yelchin does a good Reese, in spite of some bad lines.
Future is WAY WAY WAY to clean.
This movie sacrifices ridiculous amounts of realism to plot devices.
Skynet is played a bit like a cartoon villain, twirling its mustache while it watches its excessively complicated plan miraculously unfold.
No T-1 battle scene, like in the very first trailers. It got cut.
Ending is a giant meh, but I wasn't pissed by it either. Didn't like it or hate it.
Skynet's exterior defenses are based on Halo's Hang 'em High level. You'll see what I mean.
Star, the little kid Reese guards, is annoying. Actually, her apparent... abilities... are the single most canon-fucking moment in the film, in my opinion.
None of the plasma weapons on the larger machines fire purple beams.
Action scenes are pretty good. You can tell whats going on in them, so its nothing like, say, Transformers or AVP:R.
various characters take more punishment than I realistically expect them to be able to, give their conditions.
No characters are especially compelling.
All the "plot twists" are easily guessed ahead of time.
Battlestar Galactica did it first.
Movie is filmed pretty nice.
This future war bears pretty much NO resemblance to the Future war scenes from T1/T2/T3.
Most un-secure Resistance base EVER!
