Anyone else pick one of these up yesterday? I'm really digging the art for the new series', and Aliens # 1 isn't too far off now.

My local comic shop didn't participate in FCBD. I am not happy about that.

You should start picketing. Or something.

That would involve effort. I'll pass. But if anyone feels like scanning the pages in, or can find a download or something online, I'd love to read it.

Dark Horse posted some of the pages on their site. You didn't miss anything storywise, its mostly just a preview of what the art will look like, which is to say good.

ah, ok. I heard something about it being like an issue zero that ties the different relaunched titles together. (AVP, Aliens, Predator)

It was certainly an interesting read.
*********************SPOILERS************************
I was a bit confused about WHEN the Aliens series seems to be set and which continuity we're following. It was mentioned Aliens were on Earth, but this could be a ref to AvP2 or the old Earth War stuff. The look of the era looked fairly 'recent' though as opposed to futuristic. Maybe I missed something obvious...
The predator story seemed 'present-day' and the usual Hunter - Outcast type story Darkhorse used to knock out, but still looked interesting.
Loving the Artwork on both series and eagerly anticipating the story.

The Aliens story was referencing the original Mark Verheiden Earth War trilogy in that page that shows the Aliens attacking LA. The series itself will be set in the nebulous 20-60 years after Aliens/Alien3 that most of the original Dark Horse comics were set in (at least that's what Dark Horse has indicated).
The Predator series has every indication of being present day, but the three series (Aliens, Predator, and AVP) that DH is relaunching the line with are all penned by John Arcudi and are supposed to tie in together. So it might be set in the future, like some of the more recent novels.
Also, the plot of the Predator series is supposed to involve basically a war between two Pred tribes that, for one reason or another, decide to duke it out on Earth.

Thanks for clear-up mrdomino, kinda glad they're still setting it in the generic DH Era ;D Interesting if they do tie them all up...
