Aliens Predator CCG Rules Additions and Changes
Section 1: Rules Changes.
Turn Order:
Rogue-Corporate-Marine-Outcast-(Honorable) Predator-(Hive) Aliens-Cloned Aliens (RCMOPAC order)
Ready Round:
Ready all characters
Remove Duration counters in RCMOPA order
Play Objectives in RCMOPA order
Barriers:
Barriers are now assumed to be played either during the movement or search rounds by default, and are also assumed to be placed between two adjacent locations, one of which is where the character that played the Barrier is currently located. These stipulations will no longer be explicitly written on Barrier cards, unless the Barriers have a variation of the default rule. Pressure Doors and Resin Barrier already function like this, and receive no errata.
Molting Aliens:
Molting is now implied to require a Royal Jelly and to be a mature phase action, rather than being printed explicitly on cards.
Hidden Movement:
Hidden Movement now uses a simple number to describe its effect, rather than being explicit about decoy and real markers. Hidden Movement: 1 means you may use Hidden movement with 1 real marker. Hidden Movement: 2 means 1 real and 1 decoy, 3 means 2 decoys, and so on.
Locations with Search effects:
All Locations with game text that searches your deck for the "first" Item should search for any Item. This way you do not have to reveal the majority of your deck to other players. Surprises are fun.
Trap/Barrier/Sentry Gun rule:
Each player may only have 1 Trap or Barrier or Deployed Item per location (including Sentry Guns). This is a rule for Planetfall, but really ought to be a default rule for the game.
Section 2: New Factions.
Cloned Aliens:
Cloned Aliens are now a separate faction from Hive Aliens. Hostile to Hive Aliens. No rule changes beyond a place in the turn order.
Outcast Predator:
Outcasts as a faction are designed from the ground up as a hunting pack faction. While you can play any Outcast as a solo predator, you'll be at a disadvantage.
Outcasts can never gain combat pool, except from Outcast specific game text. Outcasts are not the type to plan things. Normally, expect to start with no combat pool.
An Outcast pack consists of any 3 Outcast Predators, limit one Adaptable Outcast.
Outcasts have limited access to traditional Predator tech. They can only run up to 10 honor worth of Predator Items in their deck. Outcasts can run any amount of Outcast items that they choose, however.
Whenever an Outcast kills a character they gain a gore token. Gore tokens represent the Outcast's lust for blood. When any single Outcast in the pack has ten Gore tokens saved up, you can evacuate the entire pack at once to win the game, but if a pack member dies at any point, the requirement for victory increases by 2 gore tokens. (So 3 pack members alive, 10 tokens on any one Outcast and a full evacuation of your pack wins the game. If your packmates are dead, the surviving Outcast need 14 gore tokens to evacuate and win). You can remove a gore token on a Predator for +1 damage or +1 resistance for a single attack on that predator. (Just like the CP combat option available to all other factions, you just have to spend Gore.)
The bad blood between the Outcasts and Honorable Predators means a non-Scout Outcast must attack an unhidden Honorable Predator if at all possible, with priority over other races.
Standard Starting Items: mask, Outcast Melee Claws (or something similar depending on scenario).
Starting Location: Stolen Hunting Shuttle (Indoor scenarios) or Outcast Camp Site (Outdoor scenarios).
Corporate:
TBD
Section 3: New Card Types
Main Character: AI:
AI Main Characters are a new class of Main Character available solely to Corporate players. Each Corporate player may have 1 AI character in addition to their normal starting characters. AIs are never present at a location, instead they are set to the side of the play area, like a Condition or Permanent event. AIs have no Speed or Power stats, and can never take damage. AIs exist to provide Corporate specific bonuses. Bonuses that specifically target or affect characters only apply to characters with, or present at a location with, Computers or Communications. If an AI becomes rotated for any reason, all of its game text is disabled.
Mutation:
Mutations are the Alien analogue to items. Whenever an Alien matures for any reason (this does not count converting a token to an Alien Warrior card, or vice versa), you may also play a SINGLE mutation on that character. Mutations do NOT count as items for the purposes of other cards and may not be dropped, traded, or otherwise discarded, except by card effects. Mutations are considered to add the “Mutated” resource to the Alien they are played on. Mutated Aliens cannot form alien groups.
Objective:
Objectives are a card type available to all factions that provide a new gameplay element of small tasks your characters can complete for a reward. Each Objective has a restriction, describing what factions can use them, in addition to two text boxes. The top text box is the TASK box. This describes any features of the Objective, like Unique, as well as what goal must be completed to receive the reward. The REWARD is listed in the 2nd text box on the bottom of the card, and is activated immediately upon completion.
Objectives can only be played during the Ready round, in standard turn order, after all players have readied. All Objectives are limited to 1 copy in play by default, included completed Objectives that remain in play, so that you can’t stack duplicate Objectives and complete them all at once. Objectives often have a Duration, requiring completion within a certain time frame. You may have multiple different Objectives in play at one time.
Vehicle: Predator:
Predator Vehicles work just like Human Vehicles, with the exception that they may only be Searched for Predators, and any Predator (and only Predators) can “Lock Down” these Vehicles.
Section 4: New Mechanics
Alien Lineage:
Alien Lineage is a restriction listed on Alien Main Characters. It tracks what the host species of the Alien was. Any lineage Chest Burster token can convert to a Human Lineage Alien card or token upon maturing. Lineage is primarily used for identifying certain special Events and Molted Aliens.
Pet Hybrid is considered to have Canine Lineage, and Predator Hybrid is considered to have Predator Lineage.
Alpha Aliens:
Alpha Aliens are a special type of Alien with the Alpha resource. You may only ever play a single Alpha each game, even if your previous Alpha has died or been removed from the game. Alphas cannot make groups or become warrior tokens.
Duration:
During the Ready Round, in turn order, after characters are readied, all cards with Duration lose 1 duration counter. If they lose their last counter, they are discarded.
Flip Conditions:
These are double-sided Conditions, which can switch between active sides. These Conditions describe how they flip in their game text.
“From out of Game” Triggers:
Certain cards ask you to play certain cards from outside the game when they are revealed/resolved. It is the responsibility of the owner of the card doing so to have these other cards on hand and available for use in the game.
Generic:
You may find this written in certain Main Character’s text boxes. This word means you may have more than 1 copy of this character in play and in your starting characters.
Marine Private and Rogue Mercenary are considered Generic.
Hunter:
Hunter always comes with a target describing what this character hunts. At the end of the movement round, a Character with Hunter moves towards the nearest reachable Hunter target, up to its full movement. During the Combat Round, after all other targets have been declared, the Hunter also declares an attack on it's Hunter target. If there are multiple targets for moving or attacking the target is selected at random from all legal targets.
Hybrid Queens:
Hybrid Queens may be brought into play in the same way as a normal Queen, with the exception that their Lineage requirements must be met.
Players may substitute a standard Alien Queen in their starting characters for the appropriate hybrid Alien Queen, if all players agree. The exception to this is Young Predator Hybrid Queen, which should only be used as a starting character when the scenario allows it explicitly.
Outdoor Location Types:
Outdoor locations now have one of three environmental location types: City, jungle, Wasteland. Generally, scenarios should restrict you to one of the particular types appropriate to the theme of the scenario. A handful of dual type locations (Gunnison Crater and Paris in Ruin) exist, and are legal for scenarios restricted to either type.
The Planetfall scenario is changed to restrict Outdoor locations to the “Jungle” type only, and all Atmosphere Outdoor locations are considered to have the Jungle resource.
Scavenging and Crafted Items:
Once per turn per location per character, a Mechanic character can spend 1 movement point at a location with components to scavenge one of those components. Place a token on the character to signify the scavenged component. This token is considered to be an item in the Scavenger’s possession. Mechanics can rotate during the search round to play a Crafted item if they have the required component tokens on friendly characters at their location. The components are used up and removed from the characters involved in crafting. Crafting can be done at any location.
Scavenging: Act of finding a component.
Component: Item token used for Crafted items.
Crafted: Item requiring matching components to be spent to play it.
Signature Items:
Signature items may only be used by the character listed on the card, and the character can always use the item, even if it is Military Arms and they are not a Marine. Any character can search for and pick up Signature items.
Squad:
Squad restrictions can be found in character text boxes. Squad: X means your starting characters MUST include each listed character, as well as the Squad character, to be legal.
Example: Gen Spears has Squad: Alien Warrior, Alien Warrior, Alien Warrior, so to play Spears, you must also play 3x Alien Warrior as your other 3 starting characters.
Trap Locations:
Some locations have the Trap resource, and game text describing what happens when the trap triggers. These effects resolve like normal Traps. However, these Traps cannot be removed from play, and can continue to trigger whenever anyone enters the location. Location Traps are not considered to be controlled by any player. Other Traps cannot be played to a location with the Trap resource.
Section 5: New Resources
Alpha
Alien Resource. You may only play one Alien with Alpha per game. This is a special Alien that has taken a sort of “leadership” role.
Animal
Supporting Character resource. Not considered a race. Can’t use or hold items or search.
Arthropod
Character species resource and Lineage type. This represents any sort of insect like species.
Bladed
This is identical to the "Edged" resource. Treat any instance of "Bladed" as if it was "Edged".
Bovine
Character species resource and Lineage type. This represents species like cows and oxen.
Canine
Character species resource and Lineage type. This represents species like dogs and wolves.
City
Outdoor location type and resource. May be restricted by Scenario. These locations represent human cities, often, but not always, on Earth.
Colony
Location resource. Location is part of a colony, such as Hadley’s Hope.
Cult
Supporting Character resource. These characters are part of an Alien worshipping cult.
Dark
Location resource. Characters are -2 to hit when targeting characters at a Dark location. Does not affect Aliens at Hive locations and characters with infrared Binoculars.
Defiled
Character resource. This character is infected with a Neomorph Blood Burster. They make a Burst roll, the same as Infected characters. For Defiled characters, it is considered a "Defiled burst roll" and can be affected by cards that affect "burst rolls" without specifying "Infected burst rolls". On failure of the roll, the character is killed, just like with the Infected resource, and a Blood Burster comes into play from outside the game.
Drone
Alien Resource. Drones are the standard foot soldiers of the hive. All Alien characters from Premiere, Resurrection, Atmosphere, Cityscape and Pandemic that are not Queens, Guards, Bursters, Molted Aliens, or Huggers are considered to be Drones (specifically, this affects Engima, Cloned Alien Warrior, Predator Hybrid, Pet Hybrid, and Alien Warrior). This need not apply to future Drones.
Elder
Predator resource. A clan elder.
Engineer
Location resource. This location is a facility that belonged to the Engineer race. This resource is specific to locations, the Engineer character resource is separate. Any card targeting "Engineer" will specify character or location for clarity.

Feline
Character species resource and Lineage type. Any sort of cat, including things like tigers and lions.
Fire
Location resource. This area is on fire.
Flight
Vehicle, Item, and Character resource. This card is flying in the air. It cannot be targeted by Close Combat attacks, does not trigger traps, and ignores Barriers. Vehicles with Flight can only move between Outdoor locations, and are only considered “flying” while “Locked Down”. Vehicles with Flight cannot enter Cross Locations unless otherwise allowed. Card with Flight ignore all location resource effects (IE they are not affected by Submerged or Confined, etc). Human Vehicles with Flight can ONLY be “Locked Down” by a character with the Pilot resource (characters with Driver aren’t qualified).
Frigid
Deprecated. Referenced by “Heat Wave”, but no cards with this resource exist.
Gene-Mod
Event resource. A genetic modification applied to Upgraded Predators.
Implant
Item resource. Implants are Synthetic specific upgrades. These Items can only be used by a Synthetic. Once used by a Synthetic they can no longer be traded to other characters, and if the Synthetic is killed, the implants are removed from the game.
Irradiated
Location resource. This location is bathed in radiation. At the end of the movement round, all non-Alien, non-Synthetic characters at an Irradiated location take 1 Environmental Radiation damage, and are -1 Speed and Power for the rest of the turn.
Jungle
Location resource and type. These locations represent the steamy jungles of Earth and other worlds. All Outdoor Atmosphere locations are Jungle locations. Usage of Jungles is restricted to applicable sceanrios.
Looney
Character resource. A member of "The Looneys", a group of slightly unhinged Marines.
Loyal
Corporate Character resource. Loyal characters are loyal to their employer’s company over all other allegiance, and may declare attacks on human characters without any sort of penalty.
Malfunction
Event resource. Represents an object breaking down in some way - see Malfunction from Premiere.
Mobile
Item resource. This item is capable of independent movement, like an unmanned drone. It has a Speed attribute listed in its text. Mobile items move like characters, and may be attacked. If a Mobile item is hit by an attack it is discarded instead of damage being dealt. A Mobile Item with Flight is always considered to be flying. Mobile Items cannot be picked up, and are controlled like a character by the player that found the item. Your deck may not contain Mobile items if the items do not match your faction. (IE, only an Outcast deck can contain Outcast Falcon).
Mutated
Aliens that have a Mutation card played on them gain this resource. This resource represents the physical change that has occurred to the Alien as a result of the mutation.
Neomorph
Character species resource. A hostile alien species closely related to the Alien. Uncontrollable by existing factions.
Outcast Item
Location resource. Pairs with a new sub-type of Predator Item, the Outcast Item. Represents that the location has a stash of Outcast equipment present. Outcast Items are found here.
Police
Character resource. These characters are members of a law enforcing body, like a police department or a colonial marshal bureau. Police characters may use Military Arms, and are considered part of the Marine faction. They may be freely mixed with Marines, however, not that they are NOT considered Marines for gameplay purposes.
Predator Vehicle
Location resource. Predator Vehicles may be found here.
Predator Vehicle Item
Location resource. Predator Vehicle Items may be found here. No Predator Vehicle Items currently exist.
Proprietary
Item and Vehicle Resource. Represents the most advanced technology, exclusive to mega corporations like Weyland-Yutani. Only Corporate characters can search for Proprietary cards.

Reptilian
Character species resource and Lineage type. Represents any sort of reptile species.
Rhinoid
Character species resource and Lineage type. Represents any sort of rhino like creature, including rhynths.
Ship Interior

Ship interior locations played above a Starting Location Ship are considered Distinct.
Simian
Character species resource and Lineage type. Represents any sort of ape or monkey.
Treachery
Event resource. Represents a sneaky or under-handed action. Treachery cards can be stacked on certain Conditions.
Trophy
Predator Item resource. Represents a trophy collected during the hunt. You may immediately play a Trophy from your hand if you kill a character matching the Trophy’s game text requirement. A Trophy played in this way has no honor requirement (consider the requirement fulfilled by default). Trophy Items may be searched normally, but if they are, then their honor requirement applies.
Ungulate
Character species resource and Lineage type. Represents any hoofed mammal not covered by other species/Lineage resources, like a horse, pig, or camel.
Upgraded
Character resource. A genetically enhanced Predator.
Wasteland
Location resource and type. These locations are widely varied. They may represent inhospitable areas such as the surface of LV-426, or less dangerous locations such as the canyons and deserts of Earth. Usage of Wastelands is restricted to applicable scenarios.
Wild
Supporting Character resource. Represents a wild animal or other feral creature. A wild supporting character declares a free close combat attack whenever it is targeted by close combat. Wild supporting characters cannot be controlled.
Section 6: Original Card Errata
Alien Warrior:
Gains Drone resource.
Atmosphere Outdoor Locations:
All these locations gain the Jungle resource.
Cloned Alien Warrior:
Gains Drone resource.
Marine Private:
Gains Generic keyword.
Pet:
Gains the Canine resource. Ignore the fact that the picture in Premiere is clearly not a dog.
Pet Hybrid:
Gains Canine Lineage. Now only matures from a Canine Supporting Character. Gains Drone resource.
Predator Hybrid:
Gains Predator Lineage. Gains Drone resource.
Rogue Mercenary:
Gains Generic keyword.
Section 7: Axlotl Card Errata
Cityscape Errata:
Reinforced Data Subsystems is an exception to the Event factions restriction rules. Rather than this card becoming a Corporate Player only card with the release of Isolation, it retains its intended effect of requiring a Corporate character at a Computers location to play. (Note that other cards previously targeting Outcasts and Corporate characters DO become faction specific with the releases of Hunting Grounds and Isolation, respectively.)
Pandemic Errata:
Enigma gains the Drone resource.
Hunting Grounds Errata:
Brutality can be played by an Outcast player or a Cloned player and can target any Outcast or Newborn.
Isolation Errata:
My Turn Now should be -1 to Trap Tests instead of +1.
Bug Hunt Errata:
Bad Dreams loses the Human restriction. (This was intended to highlight that it targets a Human, not to restrict the card to the human factions. This is an error on my part.)
External Surveillance gains the Main Character restriction. (As this card reads now, it is only usable by human players - not a functional change to rules - but doesn't require a character at the computers location. This is not intended. Adding main Character puts this card in line with Resurrection cards like Clear Us a Path. This is an error on my part.)
Look Sharp is renamed Look Into My Eye. The name Look Sharp is unintentionally shared with a common card from Premiere.

Redoubt
Location resource. Represents a fortified field base. You may only use 1 Redoubt in your combined deck and location deck.
Reptilian
Character species resource and Lineage type. Represents any sort of reptile species.
Rhinoid
Character species resource and Lineage type. Represents any sort of rhino like creature, including rhynths.
Ship Interior
Location resource. Ship Interior locations can only be placed above the appropriate Ship location. The game text of the location specifies what location they are played above. Ship interiors are played vertically, in a stacking row, analogous to Interior locations from the Terminator CCG.
