It's time for another one of these, although I don't expect much response or feedback from anybody here.
I'm mostly concentrating on discussing any and all of the cards from the starter decks first. And it's because the starter deck cards are more accessible than the rest of the more rare cards.
Although it doesn't have resources and restrictions I think it really should have been specifically for the Aliens player. Don't recall them clarifying anything in rulings that forbid all non-Alien players from using this card to help an Aliens player though.
Feel free to share your thoughts on this one guys. I think the consensus of this card is that it's a staple for Aliens deck, unless if the Aliens player wanted to focus on and build their deck around being non-confrontational and would rather focus on alternative victory conditions such as Hive all locations in play.
This card can hurt Predator most when played in multiples. Because by default there really isn't anything Predator can do in response to the item destruction effect, no events, etc. provide any sort of protection or counteract Acid Splash's effects. No anti-acid protection items unlike the Chemical Base that are available for Human faction players (Marines or Rogues)
b]Acid Resistant Claws[/b] is the only Predator item immune to it's item destruction effect. It's only vulnerabilities and weaknesses that I am aware of is if the attacking Alien doesn't receive enough damage to die, then this card can't be used in response, and it's also a sitting duck to Dwindling Options, if any opponent plays Dwindling Options before an Alien player even declares any attacks, because this card requires an Alien player to actually declare and make an attack first before it can be legally played.
Although it's rarity is "Common", it is included in the Aliens Starter Deck.
I wanted to add this just for easy and quick references from the Official FAQs and Tournament Rulings:
