I remember seeing them on the Harper Prism website on the AvP CCG checklist. It was just a table with text. Funny thing is, I printed out that checklist and used it for the longest time and wondered why I never saw the cards anywhere else other than the old site. It wasn't until I stumbled upon the official site many years later that I realized they weren't even promos. I have always wondered whether or not they were rejected cards or cards that were simply retitled...

Hmm...well Flak Jacket wasn't really rejected, it was just included in Garrison Pack, same as Small Arms.
Don't know about the other two...Pounce could have been any number of cards, really.

Right, but Small Arms has a separate card as well as being in Garrison Pack, where as Flak Jacket is just in the pack. Likely, the standalone Flak Jacket was simply cut because it was to worthless alone. Maybe Small Arms was already printed before the removal of Flak Jacket? Small Arms was always the odd one out of the promos.
There where starter cards printed as promos before the game came out, with different looking titles, like Chest Burster. Maybe Small Arms was one of those? I don't have a Small Arms, so I can't look to see if the title is printed normal or not.

I have the whole premiere set and Small Arms is just a promo and appears like all the others. The "Chest Burster" your referring to is considered an alpha card which was in a set of four. These cards were tossed around before a finalized look was decided on. They were "Camouflage Suit", "Chest Burster", "Cpl. Ackles", and "Young Tusk". I only have the "Chest Burster" and "Camofloudge Suit". The differences are the title text. It's more spread out and all heavy caps. I have seen the "Cpl. Ackles" card and its the same as the other alpha cards but its a different layout than the other marine cards. It has some blue in the lower right portion of the template near the picture. The "Young Tusk" card is just like the other alpha cards.
I own a Predator comic that has an advertisement in it for the AvP game and it has a "Young Tusk" card in it with a different and imo better picture. I will try to dig it up.

wow. never seen that template before. Probably best they redid it. And Pvt Wierzbowski! I bet that each marine in the set does correspond to a marine from Aliens then. Von Gries was Wierzbowski.

I've never seen that ad before! Do you think you could help an archivist out and upload the entire ad?!

lol np. The other half of the ad is Clive Barkers Imajica. I can't believe I never noticed that before. I wonder what that game was like?

The other half of the ad is Clive Barkers Imajica. I can't believe I never noticed that before. I wonder what that game was like? Very odd but kinda interesting (much like the book really). I think I still have my starter somewhere! Wasn't great to play though and really was only appealing to those who had read the book. Interesting artwork too, quite surreal.

The artwork is the most intriguing part to me. It has a lot of my favorite artists doing the card images. I maybe searched online for about an hour and couldn't find any card images minus a handful. I guess the game was even less popular than AvP. Shame, I wanted to see the artwork...
